Hello,
Slide the head off the radio. Use a pencil with a good clean eraser,
and erase the contacts clean on the radio and head. Slide it back
together, should come right up. I use to live 200 feet from the ocean in
Southern Florida. This had to be done every week or two. Had problems
with any kind of slide contact, IC706, IC756 (internal cables), PS molex
plugs, you name it. Couple months ago my 756Pro3 display went totally
bonkers, totally useless, just a bunch of jumbled colors. Pulled the
covers, wiggled the display to main board cables, all fine and happy now.
Live in NC now, but still fight with this every month or so, salt (in the
air) wrecks havic on these contacts.
