[ICOM] comparison question IC7700/IC7800

Hello,
Has anyone on the list used both a IC7700 and IC7800?
Currently a new 7700 is about the same price as a used 7800 ($-900 coupon on the new 7700 brings it down to under $6K).
I'm considering buying one of the 2, and I'm leaning towards a new 7700 (under warranty, etc).
Any thoughts either way appreciated.
