[ICOM] 746 Pro key jacks

Can someone tell me if the rear panel straight key jack on the 
746Pro stays active when when front panel Elec-Key jack is set 
to Elec-Key or Bug? Does the front key jack act in parallel with 
the rear jack when set to straight key?

The radio belongs to the club and I have limited access to play 
with it. I would like to find out if I can use the rear jack 
with an interface and the N3FJP Field Day logger macros while 
still allowing the CW operator to use the key of his/her choice 
from the front panel jack.
