[ICOM] ICOM IC-03AT belt clip screw

Good deal. I am a little surprised your screw was that short. I know mine are original but I did have to remove the plastic washers that were between the case and the belt clip as they disintegrated a few years back. I did check to make sure the screw did not penetrate into the cavity too far so as to short things out.

I agree with the Loctite, but use "Blue" unless you REALLY do not want the screw to come out, basically EVER. I do that on all that kind of hardware. I even had to use that on a screw which holds the BNC connector from shifting on a W32A. If that connector has ANY movement that screw will loosen up and the wire from the PC board to the connector will come loose. I repaired a half dozen W32A's for that problem.

My local ACE Hardware had some M3 x 0.5 x 4mm for $0.15 a piece. They seem
to work OK. I hesitate because the remaining original screw is considerably
shorter, like 1mm; just enough to clinch the case.

I'm looking for some star lock washers that will eat up some of that extra
length and, maybe, make the clip more secure. ACE only had wavy washers
starting at M4 diameter. The attendant suggested Locktite as his preference
instead of a lock washer. We'll see if I can find the washer for clearance,
if nothing else.
