[ICOM] Icom 706MKII VOX problem

When you connect the computer to the mic jack, since there are two, do you also leave I the mic connected? Remember the mic elements are always hot. I'd have look in the manual but I think when using the rear mic jack, it does not cut off the front one. Possibly when using the data jack for digital input it does. If you disconnect the mic doesn't the problem persist?
