[ICOM] ICOM IC-208H mic gain question

SOME Icom rigs had an IC amp in the audio chain with a resistor from the output sending feedback back to set the amplification level. This is negative feedback and increasing that resistance will have the effect of decreasing that negative feedback and thus increasingh the gain and deviation level. However, with all the surface mount technology in current rigs, this may not offer an acceptable way of boosting the deviation level.
