[ICOM] No Transmit on my IC-208H

Calvin,
Sounds like the same switch in the IC2720. Mine has failed 3 or 4
times, but I'm still useing it. Little trick I found, spray it with
WD40 (be sure it gets into the guts of the switch), and click it about
50 times. That will give you another couple years. Even better,
get industrial strength contact cleaner (not the Radio Shack grade
junk). I have the stuff that the Fed's require auto shops to use on
the connectors of cars for the cruise, computer plugs, and such.
It's really expensive, but it really works! You don't have to click
it 50 times, it will start working after just a few clicks, and last a
long time.
It's easy to confirm the switch working or failed by opening up the
mic, and useing a DVM or similar across the contacts. You should
have continuity across the two pins when PTT button is pushed in.
The contacts are a little hard to get to, I use needle type probes,
that will reach back several inches into tight spaces (but are
insulated except for the last 1/4 inch), or even pierce wire
insulation to check for wiring problems (a needle type hole like from
a safety pin or regular cloth pin) that will close up when you pull it
out of a wire's insulation.
