It is not if you will loose your radio set points and memories, but when !

  I took my owners manual and in pencil marked all the set points, that are 
not defaults, this way when it goes, I simply put them back in.  If I change 
any set points use the eraser on the pencil and pencil in the new set 
points.

   As far as memory channels put them in a file using a word processor, save 
to a disk and then print it out.

   Now when it is lost, you will be back in no time
