Jack,
I use the I-Mate for keying SSB or CW msgs but you have to use the
F-1 to F-5 keys for the RTTY. It is sufficient for making S&P QSOs in a
RTTY contest or working expeditions or people operating contest style.
Download the free MMTTY program for a full blown RTTY program. When
using AFSK RTTY from your sound card, do so in the LSB-D mode to get use
of the 250 Hz filter. They describe that in the Digital section of the
manual, not in the RTTY section! The digital section is some 5 pages
further back. Too bad you can't plug in a keyboard or paddle to send
RTTY like the K3 does! Maybe next time around?
