Watch out for line wrap on some browsers.
These are relatively easy to make from a piece of steel tube. Find a
piece that just fits and then set it up in a vise. You may need to put a
piece of wood dowel inside to keep it from collapsing. Have the end of
the tube stick up about an 1/8" above the Jaws. Using a fine or mill
bastard file, file away on each side of center leaving the pieces
sticking up that will fit into the slots on the nut.
If necessary you may need to drill out a short piece of rod of the
proper OD to get the proper ID and again just file down as with the tube.
Yes this is a whole lot easier with a lathe and mill, using the proper
size piano wire for the pins, but it doesn't have to be a work of art
for a one or two time use. In the past I've made quite a few of these
improvised tools. Some times I had to make two or three to get the part
out as I'd break the pins off but perseverance paid off.
With the Blue Locktite, it may be necessary to "warm" the nut
*carefully* to at least soften the compound enough to break it loose.
This may take a little practice and expand your vocabulary a bit if you
are not used to working with this type of "mechanical improvisation".
<:-)). OTOH it might do so even if you are.
Good Luck,
