[ICOM] ICW32A BNC spanner nut tool

I just got off the phone with ICOM. The get their tools from ICOM Japan. The
tool is called a SPANNER-K and is $105. This guy is exactly like what I
described in my original email, a thin walled deep socket with two
rectangular ears. The service tech and parts department don't know of any
source in the U.S.A. for such a critter. A search under the name came up
with a spanner, but not like what I described.
Looks like I am going to have to pull in some favors from one of my
machinist friends and have him make one for me. A case of beer is cheaper
than the ICOM version.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Thanks again,
Because I was having trouble getting the nut to budge, I looked at the
situation under the magnifying glass and noticed there is blue lock-tite on
the threads. As such anything that is flimsy is not going to work by
evidence of the broken needle nose pliers.
I know there was a fellow on this reflector that used to work at ICOM and
might have knowledge of the tool. I just might give ICOM a call and see what
comes up. The ICOM Headquarters is only 6 miles from my house. Usually, if
special tools are required, they are specified in the service manual, but
not in this case.

I took a look at all HT's I have that use BNC antenna connectors.
Most look like the mounting nut is either on the inside....or perhaps under
a sub panel that must first be removed.
Except the Radio Shack HTX-202.
Perhaps it is what you have??
It uses a nut over the BNC that is round...except for two pin holes, 180
degrees apart. It would require a special
tool to loosen.
I've done this before with other similar "oh crap!'s" and tried what Ive
done in the past....A snap ring pliers.
Two points that fit the divits, allowing you to rotate the nut. Worked fine
on the Radio Shack ht.
