Spanners and adjustable spanners:
Some years ago I had to remove an oxygen system from an aircraft.
Problem was some idjit had installed the fittings with at least 3 sizes if
special nuts that required a spanner.
Problem:
No spanners
Solution:
Took a cheap adjustable spanner (Crescent wrench) to the grinder and
flattened the ends of the jaws slightly.
Clamped in a drill press vice and drilled a hole in each jaw vertically
parallel to the jaws.
The holes were the diameter to accept the interchangeable pins for a snap
ring plier.
Couple of small holes drilled and tapped for set screws hold them in place.
Also took some drill rod that fit in the holes and ground several special
sets with flat tips.
Works like a charm.
Liked it so well I took a second one and drilled thru the sides of the jaws
and inserted pins.

Thanx
