[ICOM] ICOM repair?

The Operating parameters in the IC-32AT is not backed up by the internal 
lithium battery, Icom used a mask programmed CPU chip in those days.
That battery was only used for retaining the memory channels the 
operator programmed.
I would more likely suspect a voltage regulator, high resistance power 
switch etc gone bad.

As you mentioned the Radios that had the internal battery backed ram 
were the Amateur Radio products
IC : 745, 751, 751A, 761A, R71A, 271 A/H, 471 A/H, 1271A, and Marine SSB 
Transceivers M700, and M700TY.
I don't remember any others using that method of operating parameter 
retention.
