[ICOM] 7800

I just switched to Win-7 for Christmas, after my XP box literally exploded.
I guess the caps on the MB dried out. <grin>. I too am struggling with
networking the Win-7 box to a network predominated with XP stuff. It is
working, but it isn't as easy as XP was. Why does Micro-sloth need to
change even the NAMES of stuff? Everything at work is XP, everything at
home is XP, except the new box. What a PAIN! <grin>.

I still have not gotten Win-7 to recognize the 1-TB network addressable
back-up drive, where all my data is backed-up. I may need to resort to a
USB thumb-drive and transfer from a working XP box to the Win-7 box.

Not much help, but at least you are not alone. Good news is - no data lost.
It is there, if I can only get Win-7 to see it.

Happy new year.

Happy New year all.

I have just upgraded the firmware in my 7800 with a modest amount of
difficulty. I have a small home network, and I had to by a process of
elimination, find the correct address on my netgear switch, and then
manually give the 7800 the address. I run Windows 7 and everything shows
up on the network except the 7800.

The printers, wireless stuff, computers, laptop, the TV and all components
show up, but not the 7800. I can ping it but not "see" it on the network.

Am I doing anything wrong? I successfully upgraded the firmware to 2.30 to
192.168.1.20 so it worked ok.

Just curious that's all
