Hi Guys,
Many thanks for all the responses received to date re. the continual "auroral" tone of 20-meter received signals on the 751 here...
Oh those dreaded trimmer caps again...! Those things are like time bombs, just waiting to pounce...
Thanks again, everyone!

Hi Guys,
Here's one that has me scratching my head some...
A friend of mine loaned me his "...just plain ol' Icom 751" while he has a look at my ailing 751A. The rig works extremely well on 10-meters CW & SSB, but when I tried it on 20-meters CW all of the signals have an "auroral" effect on them, if you know what I mean. Even the 100-KHz crystal calibtrator sounds sorta "gurgly"---but again, only on 20-meters. Ten is A-OK.
Anyone have any idea what the issue might be, & why it's so "band-specific"...?
Thanks in advance &
