[ICOM] relay in IC-761

Randy, you ain't nutz. Check this out... I took the 'hatch' (for adjusting the Tuner) off of my 761 and fabricated a small piece of aluminum which mounts a perfect size and 100% quiet, muffin fan. ALSO, I have another one inside blowing across the P/S heatsink. Both of these fans are 24 VDC and when run on 12 V are completely inaudible. However the case of the radio never gets much above room ambient.

Sitting at the 'main' (Icom) desk, I have fans on :
756PRO
745
271A
471A
706g (used in my departed RV)

I have a fan on EVERY radio I have. NEVER had a failure (yet)... ha ha
I started this fetish about 12 years ago when I put my forearm across my beloved Drake TR-6 which had been on for hours working scatter. Remember that the TR-6 has 19 tubes in the small cabinet!

Ron, No Problem and understand about "Misery Week". I have them quite often.
another item I noticed is that over the years some of the board mounting screws 
ere not snug so I went through the whole box checking them , just like a 
otherboard, heat expansion and age will usually show up as loose mounting and 
round points..
also : call me nuts, but I moved the speaker outboard to allow additional air 
irculation..  
But I love these old 76x rigs.

Randy, if I already answered, please forgive me, it's been one of those weeks!
ou are NOT exaggerating the sensitivity of the problem. I tried 'lightly' 
apping around the radio trying to locate the general area that was problematic.
f I had not experienced the 'flea jumping sensitivity' of this problem first 
and, I would NOT have believed it.... ha ha
 am now going through the SAME type of problem on several Green Laser sights 
ounted on different rifles. MADDNING!!!!
