Thanks, Ron. This one just started recently to act intermittently. I'll
take it apart this weekend to see if I can perform the same trick that you
did. I have, by the way, found a replacement but for the $40.00 it costs,
I'll try your remedy first!

Al, these relays are a commom problem. My 761 developed the intermittant
issue last year. Icom tech says to replace it. I took it apart and used a
small strip of business card with DeOxit 5 on it. It has worked perfectly
for over a year.....
I have never seen a relay SO sensitive to "lightly" tapping the radio, to
have it kick in on out.

It sounds as if the relay in my vintage '761 has given up the ghost after
2 years. While it occasionally will work, much of the time it doesn't eem
to want to engage properly. I haven't had a chance to take it apart nd do
any measurements but my service manual says the relay is a VS12TBN-E nd
I've been having problems finding it on the net.
Any suggestions?
