Gary,
OK, live a little and get on the air. Make some noise! It is like 6M
before every HF rig started to include it. Now there are guys on 6M all the
time, both on FM and on SSB/CW. It is a beautiful thing!
Thanks & 73,

Gordon,
I can probably count on one hand the times I have used 10 FM discounting
using it for antenna tuning.
About a million years ago I purchased an add on board for my Icom 730 to
allow it to do FM from N9DBX as I remember at the Dayton Hamvention in
about 1984 or so.
I got around to installing the little circuit board and amazing the
IC-730 also sported FM. I played with that for a couple of years.
Before i sold the rig in about 1990 or so, sold to a guy I knew as Diz
on the old CompuServe HamNet Icom forum but have forgot his call, I
removed the board and think I included it with the rig but Diz did not
want it installed.
I bought that IC-730 new at Dayton in 1982 along with an IC-2AT I still
have. Dug out my LDG - Z11Pro tuner, need to look at the batteries I
installed them in 2007 but it still seems to tune ok I don't want one to
leak.
Had some Duracells still in the retail carton that leaked, they were the
9 volt type.
So nobody had to modify their IC-7000 mic for better audio as I got no
answers that's good.
AES should buy more Icom products its the busiest I have seen the forum
in a few weeks.
