Ron; any radio that sits for 25 years or so is bound to have deformed electrolytic caps, oxide on the relay contacts or worse. Someone will systematically need to beginning with the power supply carefully go through it.

Ron,What mode were you trying it on? If ssb or cw I am sure you checked the power out (RF) and mic controls.If fm? does it have the fm bd? If am sorry.The 745 won't do am.It receives am..Just some thoughts..73 john
