I have tried using the shure 444d dynamic desk mic with my newly acquired IC-761 but I am not happy with the transmit audio. It has too much bass/too much bottom end. I initially tried an electrolytic cap of 4.7 mfd (as suggested) to isolate the mic element from the mic input of the radio. I then changed that coupling  cap to 0.22 mfd which helped some but still not good enough communications audio. I would like to hear from anybody who's played with that and has an answer for me please.
