Let the others chase the numbers.  Bottom line is this - what you wrote below is all that matters.

I have several radios that people say isn't worth owning.  But it was my money, and I wanted them.

Real truth - the most fun I have had in the last 10 years hasn't even been an ICOM radio.  It is a little Yaesu FT-817 my wife got for me last year.  Sure - if don't perform like the big new radios.  But try fitting a 7800 in the cargo pocket of your hiking pants!

Glad you found one - hope it is all you want in a radio.
