Yesterday, Icom released firmware version 2.30 for the Icom 7800. This new
version adds a new CI-V command that allows transceiver control applications
to determine whether or not Split is enabled - a capability that many
application developers and users have been requesting since the last
century. This new version also enables the 7800 to accept CI-V commands that
directly transmit CW.
Hopefully we'll soon see these same capabilities added to Icom's other
firmware-updateable transceivers: the 7600 and 7700.
DXLab Commander version 8.8.5 supports both of these new capabilities; it's
available via the DXLab Launcher or via www.dxlabsuite.com
Thanks to all who asked, begged, cajoled, romanced, shamed, and sweet-talked
Icom into making this happen.
73,
Dave, AA6YQ
