[ICOM] IC-781 CIV converter problem

After working flawlessly for close to eighteen years, My IC-781 seems to
have developed a flaw.

I last used the IC-781 as a WINLINK 2 station on MARS. Everything
worked fine until I left WBGV for a summer in NY. On my return, the
IC-781 no longer responds to frequency change signals from the WL2K
software. I hooked it up to my AC Log program which has a great
interface for checking radio interface operations and discovered that
while the IC-781 responded to PTT commands and sent PACTOR, it was not
setting the frequency as it was supposed to. I have checked all the CIV
assignments, baud rates, and COM port assignements and everything is as
it should be. I even shifter to a different COM port without any joy.

The only other thing left (other than the IC-781) is the W1GEE serial to
CIV converter that plugs into the REMOTE hole on the IC 781.

Any other ideas?
