I've got two of them the oldest more than 2 years with no problems at all,
the remote head is the only way to go for mounting in newer vehicles and the
extension cable for the mic can be made with a standard RJ45 male plug and
female wall or surface mount jack, don't spend the extra money for something
that you can make up yourself. The programming software is good, I was able
to use the cable I had for my T7H which makes loading the memories much
easier. I would buy another without any hesitation.

Subject: [ICOM] IC-208H

Hi gang,

I am looking into the purchase of an IC-208H 2/440 mobile rig.

Interested in comments on this radio, if you have had one long enough to
have experience with it.

Also, can anyone tell me the connector type on the mic cable? Wondering if I
need to purchase the Icom extension cable or if I can assemble one.

Thanks!
