I had one - gave it to my son.  It is a good radio overall.  One thing I didn't
like is that it is a single-band dual bander.  You can only listen to one freq
at a time.  I guess I got spoiled on that.  But barring that one item, I have
found it to be a great radio.  I would not be unhappy if I got another.

The mic plug is the 8-pin RJ-45.  I have known folks to use a network cable and
adapter to lengthen the mic cord.
