Been there done that [ 781] The 781 is long in the tooth, never was REALLY
DUAL receive, but did sure help raise the bar for what we see and use today
..but is complicated to work on, and the bigger factor is who to work on it
.. the repair shop guys is littered with med school drop outs who should
even consider dropping out one more time, I loved it when I had it, but it
was an albatross to have repaired when it failed, [LV power supply ] and I
let it go.. bought a 7800 and will likely do the same , depending on which
one of us outlives the other one .. and competent repairs is only one
aspect, SHIPPING is the big bug-a boo .. I was lucky and a friend took pity
and carried it in his car and truck.. but that was a friend, about the
only thing worse to ship is a r-39x of any era ..
when it stops being a radio, it becomes way too big for a door stop ..
