[ICOM] I love my 706g

I've had an Icom706MKIIG for about five years.

In my view:

On hf the receiver is okay unless there are very strong adjacent signals. On tx the speech compressor seems to work well.

On uhf I've been a bit disappointed at times by the receiver being desensed on occasion by strong near by signals. I'm told that the same problem exists on 2m but have not experienced this my self. Again though the speech compressor seems to work well and this is a signifcant advantage vs some other radios I have used that don't have this feature.

I've done a lot of hf rtty with the 350 hz filter and have been fairly happy.

I also have the high stability oscilator and the narrow ssb filter and find those to be usefull.

Just my $.02 worth.
