[ICOM] Original 706 LCD Display repair/replacement

It looks like the LCD and the polarizer are one piece, and not separately cleanable.  If they were two separate pieces, then there might be moisture between them, but I don't think that is the problem.  If I were missing segments on the display, cleaning the contact area might restore connectivity, but that s not my problem.  It looks like I have had some moisture intrusion or liquid crystal leaks or contamination at the edge of the display, just above the NB legend.  At this point, unless I can find a replacement part, I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Somewhere in my deep dark memory I seem to remember cleaning the 706 MK-I
display - but that was a long time ago.  Take it apart and see....
