[ICOM] Remote Failure

I use an ICOM 775DSP/PW1 amp with beam for 10/15/20m and G5RV for
40/80m.Last week switched on and the G5RV would not load on either 80/40m.
SWR went full scale and protection light on amp came on. I discovered that
one leg of the 450ohm feed line had become disconnected. All was OK after
repair, or so I thought, amp and logging programme no longer track band
changes.

I have a 'Y' splitter from remote on rig, one line feeding the CT-17 - the
other to amp.It appears that the remote on rig is dead. Anyone with similar
issue with failure of remote?

ICOM manual for PW1 states not to use CT-17 - on reflection I think it would
have been safer to use this to add some isolation to the rig. Better to have
CT-17 fail than the rig! Anyone using the CT-17 with the PW1?
