[ICOM] Price IC-7600? Was: IC-756PROIII replacement

Hi John,

Please visit http://www.ab4oj.com/icom/ic7600/main.html for more details.
Here are the major differences:

15, 6 and 3 kHz IMD-optimised MCF roofing filters at 1st IF (the Pro3 has a
15 kHz MCF roofing filter).

The 7600 receiver is dual-conversion (64.455 MHz -> 36 MHz in one hop, using
an I/Q 2nd mixer); the Pro3 is triple-conversion (64.455 MHz -. 455 kHz ->
36 kHz). This will improve overall receiver performance, especially inband
IMD.

The 7600 has a much more powerful DSP (the same as in the 7700) for the
transmitter and receiver, and a separate DSP, almost as powerful, for the
scope. The scope now has variable resolution bandwidth (100 Hz min.) vs. 1
kHz (fixed) in the Pro3. The 7600 scope will also display a band centred on
the operating frequency, or a fixed span e.g. an entire amateur band
(adjustable via menu).

The 7600 NB is a DSP process, as in the 7700 and 7800, and will be a big
improvement over the analogue pulse-gating NB in the Pro3.

The 7600 offers additional audio-management features (TX HPF/LPF, RX
HPF/LPF, RX bass/treble EQ) in addition to those in the Pro3.

Direct USB connectivity to a PC (CI-V format and baseband) for rig control,
using a suite such as HRD. No boxes or wires are required other than the USB
cable. A USB driver will be downloadable from the Icom Japan website.

Firmware upgradeability etc. via front-panel USB port, as in the 7700.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Other than having roofing filters as standard, what improvements will it
offer over the PRO3?
