[ICOM] Question on IC-970H

Someone did the 9600 baud modification....   This was very popular.   The
IC-970 radio with all  of the modules is still one of the best and most
serviceable radios every produced.

I just acquired a unit. It has a extra switch on the back marked 9600 Sub
(sw up) and Main (sw down)

Any idea what this is?
