I use an Ampkeyer. I've used it between a Yaesu  757, Kenwood 430s & now an 
IC 746 driving an SB220. I recently got an  Ameritron 811H & it's between the 
IC 746 and the Ameritron. Maybe overkill  but it's there. There are several 
such buffers on the market. You can roll your  own  with the proper size relay 
too.  The SB220 switches 120v ....way  too much for the solid state or reed t/r 
stuff in modern radios
