Hi Harry. I have more Icoms than you can shake a stick at. When I
encounter a problem, I don't want to attempt, I have used 2 GREAT
service providers:
Scott, at MTS (Malcolm Tech Services) and
Clif at AVVID
Go to eHam and look at the 'reviews', of equipment service people. Both
of these guys appear that they can 'walk on water!!". ha ha You can get
the link to their websites from eHam. BOTH are VERY good about
answering your questions....
P.S. I don't have a 765 (NICE radio, one of Icom's best). You can check
out the reviews of that radio at eHam, also.
Anyway, I have a 761. The noise blanker on it is by far the best I have
encountered in the Icom lineup. The one in my 756PRO is virtually
useless. Fortunately, I live in a (now, finally!!!), very quiet
area.... Lots of Icoms of this vintage had problems with faulty caps.
These guys can replace them and align the radio, for a LOT less than
you might think....

GA,
I am a new member to this list. My name is Harry <w9hgo> and the
very proud owner of an IC-765.
I am looking for a service facility that will perform some of the mods
recommended
for the 76
5.
Pass band for one and possibly other.
Being located in the midwest would be preferred for the sake of
shipping.
I have not seen one, but is there a mod for the noise blanker. Mine
does not seem to be effective at all.
TNX,
73, Harry
