I think it will work, though they could reroute some circuits in the
different main units, doubtful though.
Scott may wait until the day's end or does his email before his business
day starts. He likely will answer as email seems to be his best method
of contact.
Many on the list have used his services.
For desoldering I purchased a Hakko 808-kit. its a little bulky as its
an all in one desoldering tool. Would have made those filters drop right
off the board. :)
The Hakko 808 it sure seems to work well for the through hole stuff I do
and the price when I purchased it was $160.00.
In those days Icom transmit audio was always a bit sharp, more
communications quality than hi fidelity audio.
Some could be the SSB BFO being slightly out of adjustment or the mic as
you mentioned.
