Hi Gary,

My  understanding is that the PBT infringement suit was brought by a
Japanese engineer who claimed that he had invented the circuit topology Icom
was using. The suit was finally settled in 1990; as a result Icom reinstated
PBT in the IC-751A (and possibly the R71) and resumed production of the
IC-735. They did not add PBT to the IC-765 or restore it in the IC-x75
VHF/UHF all-mode series.
