Thank goodness there are people out there like Bob Sherwood at www.sherweng.com who posts a comparative performance report of nearly all transceivers on the market today. At Bobs site you can see a measured comparison, and not an emotional one. Bobs posted chart goes from best to poorest.
     As to when a new Transceiver hits the market is not only a factor, but ease and convenience of use and many other features as well. That is why there are many brands and choices out there. What one considers bad, another may view differently.
