Rgr that - son is in Iraq, but he is KC0WKY. Daughter is KE5BHT. Wife is
N5NHC. Son-in-law is KE5JOP. Several other relatives are licensed too. It
does help!

When I was a soldier and constantly on the move - I needed HF. I had a 735 that
served faithfully in a number of missions. The XYL used an
IC-740/IC-2KL/IC-AT500 at the house. The 2KL came from Europe - full band
coverage. We were quite the team on MARS - lots of H&W traffic for my troopers.

Now that I am retired from soldiering, I have a stable of 5 older IC-901As, and
I find myself on 440 and 1200 more than anything else. Just finished a chat on
the 1273.000 Repeater in El Paso.

A 7700 or 7800 would be a waste of $$$$$ for me right now. Very cool, but a
waste of $$$$. The old 781 is still working JUST FINE. Worked Ducie on all
modes/bands but RTTY, so what more do I need?

***** BTW - IF ANYONE has a UX-59A not being used, a local friend wants to add
one to his 901A. Mine are not for sale.

Mike - KD9KC.
