Gary is right about the 735. Not to worry. My battle-tested 735 had a dead
battery. It didn't hold memories, but it did work just fine after 3 years on
the shelf. I put a new battery in it before selling it.
Gary - correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there a slight trickle current that
kept the battery topped off if you left the radio powered up?
