Bill,

It sounds like you are dealing with mental instability and possibly and 
appliance operator. That same scenario has happened to me twice so I no 
longer sell gear unless the potential purchaser come into the radio shack 
and tests it out first.

Have him ship the rig back to you and then refund his $$$. Anything less and 
the guy will stalk and slander you for months.
