[ICOM] IC-7700 or IC-7800 vs. IC-775DSP

Hi Skip,

The same way one uses a spectrum analyser - for obtaining a visual view of
signals in a given frequency range, and also for assessing the occupied
bandwidth and spectral purity of signals.

For example: If I am on 18113 kHz, and see a spike at 18125 kHz, I know a
signal is there. I can quickly tune up to 18125, or activate Dual Watch and
listen to both signals simultaneously if I wish. Without the spectrum scope,
I would not be aware of the signal on 18125.

The spectrum scope can also be used to set the transmitter up correctly -
especially for AM and FM. On SSB, it will give an indication of excessive
baseband (audio) level.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Perhaps I am just old fashioned.
What do you use the spectrum scope for?
