Hi Tom,
There may be a sneak path between the two ALC loops. You could try
connecting a diode in the second ALC line, with its cathode (band) facing
the Quadra.
Understood on the Micro Ham decoder. I had thought of designing a hardware
decoder to convert the Icom analogue bandswitching voltage to the Yaesu
4-bit band data code, but the 17/15m and 12/10m ambiguities pose a problem.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

I used a micro ham band decoder rather than using a dedicated computer and
its LPT .
I even now have the on/off functionality with the 7800 and the Quadra.Your
website was a wealth of info as well. The only drawback with my Quadra is I
cannot get the second alc line to not stop from locking up the Quadra and
its controls. I lose all functions when the second alc line is hooked to my
Yaesu MKV. I still need to determine the cause of that anomoly.
