Seems to me that was an Electronic Equipment Bank of Virginia
modification to add HF to the R-7000 using someone's module. Of
course they are long out of business.
The R-7000 tunes from 25 Mhz to 1000 Mhz and goes through a converter
and tunes from 1025MHz to 2000Mhz.
