New CRT's for both the ICOM 781 and R9000 are available on ebay
from a company in Canada called New Tubes. Just do a search for
ICOM 781 on ebay.
CRT's are available in Green and White phosphors at $169.95 and Amber at
$195.00 plus $8.00 shipping to 48 states.
Hope this helps to anyone requiring new CRT's.

Al........GW3SFC

Subject: [ICOM] IC781 display problem
My 781 has developed an annoying problem with the display.
Sometimes on power-up, the display is compressed to a total height of
about 3/4-inch, and jumps up and down like an old TV with vertical
hold out of adjustment.
Other times, the display is the right size, but the brightness jumps
between two levels.
Before I go digging too far, I thought I'd ask this group - has anyone
seen this before? Is is a CRT problem, power supply problem, or
something (or things) else?

Doug K1DG
