[ICOM] recording software

Where do you get a simple microphone with the mini plug for the back of the
computer? I have not seen those since years ago on tape recorders and they
had the big headphone like plugs. All my ham mics are the 6-8 pin mating
plugs. Does Radio Shack have them and are they mini or micro plugs? My HP
Pavilion manual says NOTHING about the plug type and very little about
recording at all. No "record" in the index of my 4 year old HP. Think I
will try just recording a few things to see how it works on Scanner
Recorder. Looks like the way to go.
