[ICOM] Icom 746 vs Yaesu FT920

Hello John,
The 746 was in my shack for a couple of years and now I still have the
746Pro (in Europe: 7400).
Both the 746 and FT920 are very good rigs. The 746 has 144 MHz (with 100
Watt PA) inside. If this is important for you (it is for me) than the
746 could be a good choice for you. Besides that the TWIN PBT of the 746
is a very nice feature.
The 920 does not has 144 MHz and the TWIN PBT, but has a very good
receiver and DSP! IMHO this receiver is one of the quietest I heard. And
the DSP is very easy to control. The NR of the 920 is as good as its DSP.
The choice is difficult, IMHO. There are noticable differences between
the displays but this is just what you like.
Both rigs would not disappoint you at all. Just let your taste make your
choice...
