[ICOM] Icom 765 and age related problems

The Icom IC765 is one of the very best radio values around. $$$ invested vs.
performance is incredible with the 765.

The 765 receiver still stands as bullet proof (see the QST review) with
specifications that are well ahead of many current day radios.

Add the PBT mod and the INRAD roofing filter and it is an even more amazing
radio!

The Icom 765 still looks like a great rig from a
performance standpoint, but it is now getting to be 12
to 17 years old or so.  Are they any common age
related problems that show up with the 765 that one
needs to look for when buying one-or things that you
would need to plan on having serviced shortly after a
purchase?
