If you want to use the IC-735 with a PC you need the CT-17, CI-V converter.
The filter should not cause that much loss in sensitivity.  Mine causes a
slight loss, but
only about 1 or 2 Db.  The filter should only affect selectivity giving a
sharper pass band.
In the case of the 500Hz filter a pass band of only 500 HZ.

The FL-63A is a very narrow band of 250HZ and that filter will cause a drop
in sensitivity
because it is so very sharp.  The loss is not a true loss as long as you are
tuned within the
BW of the filter.  In the passband it has little loss.  I do not use the
FL-63A

Inrad can supply the correct filter for your rig.

I found both the operator manual and the service manual for the IC-735 on
the internet.
