Compare the $3000 Drake TR-7/DR7 to the price of a nice 1980s model sports car. (3 Drakes for the price of a nice one right?)
Now multiply the price of an Icom 756 ProIII and see how much sports car you get today!
In 1980 I was in College and driving/sometimes pushing a '76 Pinto.
That Drake was worth more than my car!
