Gents,

Who said that contesters don't need either another receiver or at east a
dualwatch? Did Icom contesting gurus ever heard somebody working 40 m SSB
saying, "listening this frequency (say, 7080) AND 7248"?

I doubt very much, somebody (or at leat a lot of people) will spend 6-7K for
a radio just for seldom contesting needs. Most of people buy a RADIO to use
for all possible purposes. So let people have at least the dualwatch...

The statement about IC-7700 as "Single Op 2 Radio" dedicated one looks a bit
overkill for me. Quite some SO2R people run a good quality TRX with a full
set of antennas and a good PA, and then add another cheaper radio, used or
so, barefoot, along with just a vertical. Two full blown TRXs is good, of
course, but not quite feasible.

Maybe I am wrong... Time will tell.

Vladimir VE3IAE
