Hi Julio:
          The RF Power knob is one and the same with the compression control built in as the knob rotates clockwise.  After looking at the owners manual it appears that with compression off you get full power out but if you want to run less than full power, the compression must be turned on.  Yes, you could run less mic gain and have the compression on but I would prefer to set and forget.  I don't understand why the control was implemented in the way it appears to be.
